Air-gapped? Might as well test in a VM.
Advise: For a sandbox, get Sandboxie from TPB.
Rule of thumb: NEVER use an M$ app when there are third party alternatives. Especially *services* .
Less vectors for attack, less need for updates, and other M$ malware.
Win10 is a POS. I have Win10, Win8, Win7, XP here. Update nothing. Win10 updates are painting you into a corner of their *cloud* where all the sheeple will be herded, and you will be forced to RENT your desktop on a monhly basis.
If you *need* Win10 for any reason I would get a good hacked post-anniversary edition from TPB. There are a few posters who specialize in OS releases. Rip the crap out of it ala Blackviper. (Pre-anniversary might be better for certain VM's - Virtualbox esp - unless newest version has fixed that)
With a sufficient gelding of Winxx you will find the the net becomes signficantly *safer*. To the point of clicking on boogers and nothing happens. Because the M$ services the boogers use are disabled.
Oddly, safest system is XP. I have yet to see a modern booger able to use its older version of .NET.
If you are going to use the Torrents, keep in mind that the best scumware will slip past *all* scanners. And that the least harmful, like keygens will be flagged and blocked by korporate AV software 7 ways to sunday.
Point of this OT harangue is that if M$ (or Apple) announces any 'free' special updates, that its ultimately designed to benefit THEM and not you.
