Torrented Games Questions?
#1
Hello

I assume these will NEVER work for online play right - eg fps online etc?

Assuming they work for 'offline' solo campaign... do they just disable all the 'phone home' stuff?

And I assume that means no cloud saves etc too?

Do you get problems with Steam, Origin and others identifying torrented games on your pc (I'm in Win 11 Pro) ?

Do they NEVER run via game launchers as above when torrented?

Or do they still need to go online even if offline play - do you just need a dummy account (not your main one?

Any other info that's important would be great

Thank you for your help

What would you like to do?

If you want to play online with some games, I had a link of a write-up on how to play some pirated games online: https://pirates-forum.org/Thread-Playing...s%2Bonline

As for the rest of your concerns, I would say to use a rigid firewall to block anything; you can't too sure that the pirates made a complete bang-up job on erasing all traces of DRM.

If you're really unsure, try GOG games, although I would say that since they do a bang-up job with eliminating DRM, you might want to support them. I'm going to at one point.

Hope this helps.

I'm more interesting in maybe trying torrented games occasionally more so to try them out before I buy.

As games get cheaper pretty fast these days I don't mind waiting a while to buy them.

But I would still like to try some out sometimes first when they are more expensive as the two hours testing/refund doesn't really help much for more complicated games with really long training and/or if you have problems with crashes etc.

OK, well, not forcing you to do anything.

And for the GOG link, if you want to try them out before buying, try this:
https://gogunlocked.com/

If you're trying to download games in a general nature, try these:
http://web.archive.org/
https://gamepciso.org/
https://www.ziperto.com/
https://elamigosgames.com/

Once upon a time, I downloaded Warcraft III Reign of Chaos and the Frozen Throne and Diablo II and its expansion, and it took five CD-Rs. The entity who passes him/herself as :"El Amigo" simplified the distribution by putting all the respective games together. So I have the complete edition of Warcraft III in one disc and the complete edition of Diablo II in another. Now I only have two. A Doubleplusgood good job that guy does.
