Does anyone remember the old days with FTP and IRC being the primary way you downloaded software? Last time I checked on IRC there were no warez channels. Does anybody still run this kind of thing? I miss being able to browse all somebodys "crap" to see what they like and what I can download. I miss the unfiltered view of sombodys collection.

I'm still on IRC. I never used it to download software. I use open source software.

Direct file sharing like Shareaza seems moribund. Tixati is a similar idea on a BitTorrent client.

I used IRC for pirating back in the good old days.
I love file servers (F-Servers).
