STUMPS DON'T LIE -- FUCK PAPER RECEIPTS! MAKE THEM BY REQUEST ONLY!!!
AN OPEN PLEA TO ANONYMOUS AND THINKING PEOPLE EVERYWHERE

After years of getting paper receipts for buying a banana or popcorn bag at some grocery store or mini mart, receipts that represent TREES KILLED AND FORESTS DISAPPEARED, we've decided to fight back with an organized movement (for lack of a better term) to fucking STOP THIS TOTAL WASTE OF NATURAL RESOURCES NOW. You're like us aren't you? You don't want a paper receipt for ANY purchase below a serious amount of money. It goes without saying most people DON'T EVEN WANT THEIR CRUMMY PAPER RECEIPTS! When was the last time you ever bought some small item (or really any item) been handed a receipt and said to yourself, "Thank God! Proof for my tax attorney that I bought a pack of chewing gum! I'll just put this in my file."? NEVER!

It's as if by mindlessly accepting your paper receipt for your seventy-cent purchase, you're taking part in some sort of de-forestation ceremony. As if the people behind it all are uncertain themselves about the brutal destruction of our common wealth for their gain and need your consent, however small, to legitimize their capitalist apocalypse. A fantasy that natural resources are endlessly replenishable. YOUR STUPID PAPER RECEIPT IS A BLACK CHURCH WAFER FOR TREE CEMETERIES THE WORLD OVER. An unholy church wafer you're handed on your way to the bio-apocalypse. One the paper industry created without your consent and which you must accept. But no longer.

The paper receipt industry has gloated over the recent defeat of a bill in California that would ban long paper paper receipts and make paper receipts in general available by request only---a totally fucking reasonable piece of legislation!
Here's a propaganda piece from the paper industry, a conglomerate with the menacing name of Domtar, stating why the small forest you are handed over the years in receipts isn't so bad:

https://newsroom.domtar.com/rejected-ban...-receipts/

(Is it just a coincidence that the name "Domtar" sounds like a comic book villain bent on destroying the planet?)

And here's a news story about the recent defeat of the bill to ban long paper receipts in California and make them by request only.

https://archive.vn/GBaud

“The defeat of this legislation to ban paper receipts is an important victory for Domtar,” says Tom Howard, Domtar’s vice president for government relations."

Domtar [Dominate the Terre?] claim it's not so bad. Just accept the bit of recycled paper they are handing to you. But what they don't want you to know is: A TREE FARM IS NOT A FOREST

It's claimed by the paper industry that your receipt for the $1.64 pen you just bought is a boon to the world in that it helps curtail tax fraud!

People, we cannot tolerate this any more. This needs to be a world-wide movement. Anonymous needs to be contacted and put into action about this! Green anarchists, tree-hugger refuseniks, basic decent thinking people of the world need to MOBILIZE and get the word out! PAPER RECEIPTS HAVE TO GO. We can do this! (In France, we can start with the Casino megachain of food stores, who hand you the equivalent of baobab tree every time you buy sandwich there.)

The trees are the very last problem with paper receipts.

Its the coating/ink on the paper for the thermal printers used.

Extremely toxic metabolic disruptors, easily absorbed by the skin.
Probable carcinogens.

Avoid thermal printing papers!

Agreed but my beef is the uselessness of the receipts we get, forced on us without our consent.  There needs to be an opt out BEFORE they print it up for you, so you remember the magic moment you bought a lager from them.  You don't want our receipt? OK, now it goes into a landfill.

In addition, I'm trying to make this a world-wide movement. I think this would be perfect for Anonymous to get on board with. If you could disseminate this message to them and any other activist parties on any message boards, social media etc I would be much obliged!!
Thanks,
Sir Nulch-a-lot.

I don't think anonymous could do anything about it tbh. It's down to individual retailers/restaurants etc to offer a choice. Since the covid 1984 pandemic started, most retailers now ask customers if they want a receipt for their goods, because germs on receipts or something. The majority don't want receipts for grocery items, but do for things like clothing where you may have to return it and would need the receipt as proof of purchase.

When this thing is over and life begins to return to 'normal,' I think paper receipts will only be wanted by those who buy items that could be returned, and not for perishable goods and services like food or cafe bills. I would suggest raising people's awareness of the issue, rather than trying to get an anon group to force the issue down their throat, as you're more likely to get results from educating people and giving them a choice on the matter. Getting people to change their lifelong habits through education and awareness is a slow process, but it's the best way to make it a permanent change.

Hi Spud!,
"most retailers now ask customers if they want a receipt for their goods,"
I've never had any retailer ask me that question anywhere ever. At any store period. I wish! With Covid in the U.S. that may well be the case.
"The majority don't want receipts for grocery items, but do for things like clothing where you may have to return it and would need the receipt as proof of purchase."
Agreed. Yes.
"I would suggest raising people's awareness of the issue, rather than trying to get an anon group to force the issue down their throat, as you're more likely to get results from educating people and giving them a choice on the matter."
Yes and no. If Anonymous could step in the issue would get mass attention. In most countries there is absolutely no recognition of paper receipts as a problem. I mentioned in my post France, where the Casino megachain automatically hands you a foot-long receipt for any minuscule purchase. Every french citizen has shoppped there at least a few times. Once the public finds out the massive waste and boondoggle that is part and parcel of the seemingly innocuous paper receipt a cascade of reform is bound to occur. Also I think this issue would be excellent for a documentary. Show some clear-cuts and then show where those birches, oaks and old growth forest went: as paper receipts in a trash can---a familiar scene of modern life.

Someone should tell Greta that the problem with CO2 increases is not industrial and vehicle production, but that the natural sinks for it are disappearing. Like forests. CO2 is after all, first and foremost: Plant food.

Clear cutting also affects sediment deposition in seas and oceans which would increase acidification, and CO2 .

You'll get a bigger response from the globalists pushing the Global Warming agenda, than from the regular Greens.

With the wuflu depression coming it might be a moot point.
We tried to stop the clear cutting of an historical region. Got nowhere. But the last 'recession' did it for us.

Good points.

I would also like to append a link to a masters thesis written by Isabel Sarenmalm about the wastage of Swedish forests by the paper receipt industry called, Would you like your receipt? Sustainability perspectives of consumer paper receipts
