Some links disappear in description
#1
Hi Smile

I got a question I've been asking myself for the past two years:
Why does some links disappear in the description after I've uploaded a torrent? Huh
And then ofc I'm unable to delete it if smth is wrong... Dodgy

EDIT: I'm not sure what category this should be under in the Forums. Sorry. Undecided

If a link disappears from your description, it is because it has been banned.

You are able to delete torrents by request in the Account Issues sub-forum.

So shortened YouTube-links (youtu.be) or bit.ly links are banned?

EDIT: Why is megaupload.com banned for example? The link doesn't even work anymore...

Hell yes. All link shorteners are blocked as soon as they're discovered, and people using them are usually banned. There is no legitimate reason for hiding the sites you're linking to.

Links to most direct download sites are also banned. This is a moderated file-sharing site, there is no legitimate reason for posting links to unmoderated file sharing sites.

Still... I don't understand why youtu.be is blocked...

Because there is no valid reason to post links to video streaming sites either, and TPB neither likes nor wants spammers.

Linking To Sample Images Is Also Banned That's unfair

Try using different image hosting sites, like imgur or tinypic (I think those ones will work.). OR bayimg, just to be sure.
And do not shorten links - cos those are banned as well.

PS: I don't use links in my descriptions, but I wonder if there is blacklist of sites that are unsupported in descriptions.

Linking to sample images isn't banned.

Links to pay-per-click URL shorteners are. Those are only ever used by scumbags.

Consider yourself lucky you haven't been banned...yet. TPB is not here to provide you with an income.
