With an influence as far reaching still as their musical eclecticism was during the band's golden era, Little Feat remain one of the very finest American groups of the 1970s. And while their classic LPs from that time remain essential, it was during their live shows that they transcended mere excellence and took proceedings to somewhere quite extraordinary, if not supernatural.

This delightful triple disc set captures perfectly the mighty Feat doing exactly what they did best, when they were doing it best. Featuring three complete FM radio broadcast recordings from the years 1973, 1974 and 1975 respectively, during which the true nature of this legendary act, nay institution, is revealed in dynamic performance and magnificent audio quality, this collection will surely become a fixed asset in the collections of fans the world across.

The first disc here includes the group's performance at the intimate Ebbets Field venue in Denver Colorado, recorded on 19th July 1973, just a few months after the release of Dixie Chicken, arguably Little Feat's most cherished album. Next up comes the 1974 in-studio recording they made for transmission at New York's Ultrasound Studios on 19th September that year, shortly after Feats Don't Fail Me Now came out, another LP among those in the know. Finally, the set concludes with one of the most famous gigs they ever performed, the 1975 Halloween show from Boston's majestic Orpheum Theatre, a recording made a month before The Last Record Album was issued.

Recorded at Henson Studios and Trainwreck Studios, Ohms is an other-worldly body of work meticulously crafted by the 5 piece band. It is a magnificent tour de force and their first album in 4 years since the critically acclaimed Gore in 2016. The band, which includes Chino Moreno, Frank Delgado, Stephen Carpenter, Abe Cunningham, and Sergio Vega, has produced a dense record with every member firing on all cylinders. Back in the late ’80s when Gangsta Rap was rising in popularity, on the other end of the spectrum was a new form of Alternative Hip Hop. Together offering 16 full, solid tracks of music, the conceptual backstory behind the album follows a prisoner called Anthony; a character featured in Speech’s 16 Bars documentary which shines a light on the messy criminal justice system.

All in all, Don’t Fight Your Demons is proof that Hip Hop is still a viable artform that can bring a message. Arrested Development raise awareness, but all while doing so with rhythmic flow, authentic Hip Hop beats, and a feel good vibe. Shiver is the exciting and boundary pushing second record from LA-based Icelandic musician Jónsi, co-produced by A. G. Cook (PC Music, Charlie XCX) and comes a decade after his debut, Go, was released. The new album features tracks with Liz Fraser (Cocteau Twins) and pop icon Robyn. It will be released 28th August 2020 and was recorded in Berlin, Reykjavik, London and Helsinki. Not too long ago Jónsi was traveling through London, where he met up with iconoclastic producer A.G. Cook, who he admired for his boundary-breaking work with the PC music collective. He had no expectation for the meeting, but the more they talked, the more he realized they might be perfect collaborators. “I’ve been doing this for 30 years,” Jónsi says. “I get tired of everything really easily. I always want things to be fun and exciting and fresh, and doing another album...I just wanted to have a different approach.” Jónsi had made a career on sweeping music that plumbed the depths of the human experience and our connection to the natural world. Cook’s production exists at the opposite end of the spectrum: synthetic, sometimes abrasive, and often on the cutting edge of experimentalism. On paper, their collaboration is surprising, but Shiver is a beautiful record that pushes Jónsi’s otherworldly voice into startling new territories.
