Search by date not working properly
#11
Problem still exists. Try finding a tvshow, get a list of 627 torrents. Want the newest, so click on uploaded and number of torrents is 610. Cleared cache and then it works.

Hey guys, this has been going on during a few weeks now.

When I search by a user and sort by date the first page will have their most recently uploaded files but then when I click on the next page it will have files they uploaded a week ago. So it is skipping all the files they've uploaded on the last week.

If I search by the name of the tv show I want then the file comes up by said user. Happening with every uploader (makinatos, ettv, etc).

Also with ETHD, it isn't showing any uploaded files since last month at all...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try clearing you cache, Ctrl +F5 and or try disabling your add-ons.

Stop suggesting that, that is NOT the issue me and others are having, most likely not you either, you likely just got served with another web-node or a cache expiration while doing your "solution" or whatever.

Me and others have tried several different browsers with the same result (hint: they dont share caches), i downloaded Firefox today and the very first visit to TPB the "sort by date" sorting does not work properly

For instance, here is the porn category https://thepiratebay.org/browse/500/0/3/0 and on that page the newest torrents are from 09-30 (for me), over 10 days old (good luck explaining that with a browser cache issue when i downloaded Firefox for the first time today), page 2 however lists torrents that are listed with "7 mins ago".

Then after that the sorting works intermittently on a page by page basis, page 3,4,5 may have the correct sorting (random witch pages have the right sorting and which don't), then on page 6,7,8,9 i am back on torrents from 09-30, then page 10,11 lists new torrents again and it keeps doing that forever.

Its NOT a browser cache issue, its a TPB issue, it has been going on for just a little over 1 week now.

This issue has been brought up over at the TPB reddit sub, and the poster linked back to this thread. It's good to know that this is at least being discussed, and I definitely agree it's not browser cache. I hope this gets fixed soon.

just fyi (for you and any others who may see this, or for you to share on reddit) no TPB/SB staff follow or post in the reddit sub so nothing you read there will ever be more than third-party speculation.

This forum, and our IRC channel are the only places to communicate with genuine members of our staff.

best way to search a specific users uploads is to just go to their uploads list page and scroll through the pages.
IE: for ETHD  use https://thepiratebay.org/user/ethd/0/3/0
as of this post their last upload was > 10 min ago
hopefully that makes it easier, I also find torrents show in those pages quicker than when searching for the show/movie

All due respect as a trusted uploader (and I appreciate what you guys do!), it's like you didn't even read what blackrose wrote. Did you try the link you posted and click the arrow to go to ETHD's second page of listings? It's EXACTLY how blackrose stated it is. It doesn't matter what uploader results you search for, sometimes you get some of today's links, but go a page or more into the results and it goes all the way back to 9-29 uploads, like the uploader hasn't posted anything for 10 or more days. It doesn't matter what browser you use, or whether or not you clear the cache or use a spanking new computer. THE SITE HAS A SEARCH PROBLEM.

I absolutely checked, wouldn't have posted if i hadn't
Page 2 from the link I posted shows torrents uploaded yesterday, page 3 has a couple from yesterday and most from Oct 9
Page 4 is Oct 8-9, page 5 Oct 7-8.........
Now sure on occasion the site goes back to an older/cached version, probably an issue on cloudflare, or you are seeing a cloudflare cached page if the site went offline for a few
But almost everytime it is fine within 5-10 mins
And keeping cache cleared always helps since it forces the browser to load the most recent version of the sites code

But that surely only applies when the browser already has a cached copy from a previous session? As Supercake mentions, this issue occurs even on freshly-installed browsers.

Yes, there will be no cached version on a new/clean browser install
But cloudflare may still deliver a cached copy from their server if the TPB one is down when you try to load the page.

I'm fully aware of what users are saying, I get it on occasion too, mostly on ettv's listing pages.
But wait a min or two, maybe 5, click refresh and all is good.
So it is an intermittent issue, not a constant one.
