1. The new Mike/Kevin/Bill riff
2. The original Mike-Solo riff
3. 2-channel Stereo
4. 6-channel surround-sound
Also corrected subtitles. Also the subtitles have been Rowsdower-ed.
I think you'll find the movie audio is higher, the riffing quieter (per constructive criticism), but the riff should still always be audible above the movie.

Perfect! Now no need to have multiple copies around! Thanks so much, man!

Watched some of v2 last night and the audio's perfect!
My one request would be that it has forced 1.85:1 widescreen inside a 16:9 box with the letterbox bars instead of just being 'pure' 1.85:1, which messes up being able to crop to 16:9 with VLC (I have no idea if any of those AV terms are correct.)
Rifftrax does this a lot too and it bugs me. I'm not so much of a movephile that I want black bars on my already wide HD tv, and am happy regular full widescreen 16:9.

It's a tricky thing, the perfect sync. I can't say I've nailed it yet.
And a quick mia culpa - this one's not perfect either. The Mike-solo riff sounded great when it was a multi-track, but then I mixed it down and compiled the .mkv without listening to the mixdown. That was a mistake, because something went wrong. The Mike-solo riff is drowned out occasionally by the movie. damn, damn, damn. Still, I feel like the 3-riffer version is better. Feel free to re-constructive criticize if you'd like.

If you want no bars, you'll need to crop it from 1.85:1 to 1.78:1 (16x9). It's not RiffTrax's fault—they're just giving you the full movie—blame the studios for filming it that way.
Me, I prefer the black bars as aposed to the pan-n-scan format (Disney is notorious for this)

for most people I think it kinda goes like:
Video in original ratio, letting your media player handle the rest > Black Bars > Pan n Scan > blindly cropping the video.

It really isn't, since all they did was release an audio file.

I wish I could take part in this discussion - but honestly I've never been able to get my head around aspect ratios. I've been using a program called Xilisoft to put all the stuff together (that is, convert to an .mkv, add the subtitles, add multiple audio tracks, end up with a single file). I usually let it automatically choose the aspect ratio, and the choices it gives me seem limited.
Is there better software I should look at using?

I use MP4tools for simple converts, and Handbrake for complex.

I will buy someone a bottle of water, mug of coffee, and cup of orange juice if you edit the Mike-solo "Behind the Music" ending into the 3-riffer version. We can all agree that would be the definitive edition, I think
