I'm planning to upload my stuff through The Pirate Bay, and what I'm trying to figure out is if I need to add trackers when uploading.
This was not made clear in the FAQ (i.e. not mentioned), so I think I should get this question answered so that others know.

Not necessary if DHT works. Else, tracker will help peers to locate each other.
Adding a tracker or two helps peers find each other.

At any given time copy the trackers from any magnet link on TPB, for example https://thepiratebay.org/description.php?id=74435687
Code: magnet:?xt=urn:btih:8F48713F050FF5F767C7E3B3D69F8545899A4A8E&dn=Aquaman%20and%20the%20Lost%20Kingdom%20(2023)%20%5B1080p%5D%20%5BWEBRip%5D%20%5B5.1%5D%20&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.opentrackr.org%3A1337&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.openbittorrent.com%3A6969%2Fannounce&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Fopen.stealth.si%3A80%2Fannounce&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.torrent.eu.org%3A451%2Fannounce&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.bittor.pw%3A1337%2Fannounce&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Fpublic.popcorn-tracker.org%3A6969%2Fannounce&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.dler.org%3A6969%2Fannounce&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Fexodus.desync.com%3A6969&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Fopentracker.i2p.rocks%3A6969%2Fannounce
Reformat them to a torrent client friendly format (remove the first bit with hash and title, change %3A -> :, %2F -> /, replace &tr= with double line separators), then you have a ready to paste tracker list
Code: udp://tracker.opentrackr.org:1337
udp://tracker.openbittorrent.com:6969/announce
udp://open.stealth.si:80/announce
udp://tracker.torrent.eu.org:451/announce
udp://tracker.bittor.pw:1337/announce
udp://public.popcorn-tracker.org:6969/announce
udp://tracker.dler.org:6969/announce
udp://exodus.desync.com:6969
udp://opentracker.i2p.rocks:6969/announce
There you go, i did all the hard work for you

As far as I know, it don't matter if you add trackers to your torrent. TPB will overwrite it with its own.

Hence the practice of getting the trackerlist from any current tpb torrent. If you wanna connect to tpb peers via trackers (not DHT) you need the same trackers in your client... DHT is cool and all, but where i stay for example (african rental), I cant access the main router and do proper port forwarding, so DHT is useless.

maskaw, are you referring to the time when TPB served torrents. Now, we only have magnets.
From what the 'eagle' wrote, it would be good idea to add a couple of trackers.
My understanding is, if i created a torrent with N trackers, then that is the .torrent file which will propagate to everyone in the swarm; until someone fetches it from another site which modifies the torrent to add/remove trackers.
PS: You can set qBittorrent to always add specific trackers to added torrents.
- Settings > Bittorrent > 'Automatically add these trackers to new downloads'.
