Question on mp3 to iphone
#1
I own an old mp3 player from back in 2000... never been a big music person. All my music was gotten completely legally; so, it makes me so mad I can't move it to my iphone. Freaking itunes wants to charge me for music I already have and got legally... just some old Bee Gees, Mozart, Sade, Elton, etc...

So my question is: I moved it off my old mp3 player to my laptop so I can hdmi it to my tv speakers. Now, I thought... well maybe I can get it to my iphone where I can take it with me to work and I have a small speaker for that.

Anybody know how to get your mp3s off your pc to your iphone? I'm talking about legit music I got completely legally. I refuse to get the itunes app on my pc because I am old school.. been coming here since it was created... and I think itunes is a rip off charging for stuff you already have and bought a long time ago. Hate those suckers all about a how to make a penny off everything. Angry

Thanks for any help.

I don't know what you have tried, but I do know iTunes most certainly does not try to charge you for music you already have, whether or not it is even legal. You simply add it to your iTunes library, and then sync it with your phone. If you are seeing any request for money, you are doing it wrong.

I can't name specific titles as I have never used them myself, but there are 3rd party apps that will allow you to transfer files to and from the phone if you are completely opposed to using iTunes.

As Moe mentioned there are 3rd Party apps that can help you explore your iPhone files and transfer stuff to your phone.
You can use i-Fun-Box.
Also iMazing (DiskAid).

And these are free so even better. Try some apps to see if they work.

Thanks. I will try those transfer things. What I was referring to was not knowing how to move my mp3 files to my iphone. And see, itunes looks at those mp3s on my laptop like I didn't buy them... it won't let me just move them over. Which this makes me angry because this is music I've had over 15 years. I think itunes is just trying so hard to stop illegal downloads that they don't realize there are a lot of people out there that legally own music and would like to buy one of their phones then be able to load their old music. See?

Anyways, I hope this works. Will give it a try and thanks a bunch for helping.

What? I have been using itunes and iphone products for atleast 8 years, and never have they forced me to rebuy mp3s. Try turning of Sync, turn on manual transfer of tracks and you should have no problems.

This guide should help you https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201593

I think you are just using it wrong.

iTunes doesn't care where you got those MP3 files from.

Open up iTunes, drag all those shady MP3 files into the library, and then sync them with your phone.

Seriously, there is no Apple conspiracy to be found here.

You should make sure those MP3s are compatible with iTunes music standard. Actually, you directly import music to iPhone with iMazing app.

iFunbox can't work on iOS 10 devices and iMazing is expensive for a license.
