Proper Kindle Format?

I'm finding all the books I want in PDF, but when converting to MOBI, the format comes up a bit scattered. For example, I converted "The Book Of Mirdad" by Mikhail Naimy from PDF to MOBI and the title page has "The" on the first page, and "Book Of Mirdad" on the second. Is there a better PDF to Ebook converter for Kindle, or perhaps a site where I can download the books I want in a better format?

Yes, the PDF format is inherently bad for many reasons, this being one of them. When I had a kindle I ended up jailbreaking it and installing a custom OS that allowed me to read PDF files and other formats. The next best option is proof reading your converted files and fixing broken paragraphs etc manually - calibre lets you edit both mobi and epub files and convert flawlessly between the two. As for finding the mobis/epubs, https://z-lib.org/ and https://libgen.is are web based.
