Quote:Well, to my surprise those were taken down in Dec (2014) raid but this German site claims different story! (Any know how/ confirmation about them from Staff ?????)

Online Piracy: Another success against illegal filesharing

Another success against a file sharing network: The music industry could obtain that a German provider of Internet servers has now operators a tracker software deprived access to the grid, could spread through the more than 30 million Internet users also copyrighted content among themselves. The so-called BitTorrent trackers with the name "OpenBitTorrent" PublicBittorrent "and" Istole.it "offline so. Together, they managed a day more than 2 billion (illegal) connections.

The managing director of the German Music Industry Association eV (BVMI), Dr. Florian pressures, explained: "Until now, were the subject of copyright infringing use of music especially the operators of BitTorrent search sites in the foreground, a prominent example of such sites is ThePirateBay Our new, slightly extended focus. now includes also other participants in the BitTorrent network, especially the operators of BitTorrent trackers. Without the Tracker, providers and seekers at all connect only to each other, illegally offered content can be found much more difficult, to be in accordance to this success now copyright infringement in the digital domain space more difficult. "

About the operation of BitTorrent networks and trackers

BitTorrent networks allow users not to download a file from a server as a whole, but piecemeal on various other network members. From the items a software finally puts on your home computer together the finished file. If you downloaded via the "BitTorrent" network, in turn, allows frequent other users to obtain on his computer "file fragments" and may also be illegal for uploader copyrighted content.

Central for downloads and uploads files between providers and users within the network are the BitTorrent tracker, coordinate "supply" and "demand". Without the Tracker finding sources and thus downloading protected content is considerably more difficult.

The crackdown on illegal content distribution requires staying power

In the Hamburg firm Rasch lawyers escorted procedures were music companies, the operators of the Tracker (even) be asked in a first step to end its participation in the distribution of copyrighted content. When they did not respond, it took contact with the provider of the Internet server ("Host Provider") on. This put its customers, the operators of the tracker software, a deadline for blocking the torrents. As well, this period expired without result, the servers of its customers switched the hosting provider completely. Within the framework of legal proceedings, the Hamburg Regional Court (Az. 310 O 11/15) the provider also obliged to provide information on its customers. This now threatens civil rights of the rights holders and a criminal case.

As expected, try other smaller Tracker now to fill the gap. A by a German-operated tracker has been shut down in this regard already on 31 March 2015..

Florian pressures: "The unfortunate development in the cross-industry initiative against illegal advertising on sites shows how difficult is the containment of illegal use. It is high time to think about liability in the digital space holistic. "

confirm what?

that in the course of coming after the bay (a constant source of humiliation for governments and corporations of unimaginable wealth alike), that several sites -regardless of their nature- were taken off line? or that despite everything, tpb is back again?

oh god!! Stormium Cross your heart and tell me the truth, are you on Rum nowadays?

"To confirm" means to authenticate; what that German website was claiming is right or just guessimations? And I did edit that TF confirmed that. Rum is bad you know, prefer branded products. Tongue

aw, personal attack involving rum as a way of disagreeing with their propaganda? welps... i guess i'll just call you an idiotic faggot and move on...

what the germans are saying is nonsense... literally:

Quote:Another success against a file sharing network: The music industry could obtain that a German provider of Internet servers has now operators a tracker software deprived access to the grid, could spread through the more than 30 million Internet users also copyrighted content among themselves.

blame google translate, the jews or a shadow government... either way, it's nonsense.

Quote:The so-called BitTorrent trackers with the name "OpenBitTorrent" PublicBittorrent "and" Istole.it "offline so. Together, they managed a day more than 2 billion (illegal) connections.

yeah, they did a lot.

now, once again, your confirmation (in small easy to understand words) along with numerous other sites including our image host and this forum... eztv's site was also taken down along with torrage... but it had nothing to do with the german music industry or german courts.

so, as for this 'victory' over illegal filesharing... it's nothing but propaganda. so far, they've only shut down one 'german' tracker. that's it. ONE.

but fear not my young simple minded friend... one day, someone will create something marvelous and they might call it dht.

...one day.

now, as for taking credit for taking credit for taking the trackers down: https://pirates-forum.org/Thread-Music-I...ers--41114

it's still bullshit. a german court played a part in forcing the sites offline... not the german music industry. get that right... and furthermore, it's unclear as to how and why that even happened since torrentfreak is notorious for writing half stories, incomplete stories, unverified stories and just pulling stories out of their asses.

let's examine this:

Quote:We say handled, because the trackers have been offline since mid-January. The trio mysteriously disappeared, but the German music industry group BVMI now takes credit for the shutdowns.

According to BVMI’s lawfirm Rasch, the hosting company took the tracker offline after they were ordered identify the operators. However, the host initially refused to disclose the personal details.

okay. so, the host initially refused to disclose the operator's personal details. does that mean the operator's details were eventually disclosed? also, why were the sites taken offline anyway? was it due to a court order or was it to defy the court's request to identify the operators? who fucking knows?

the only thing for certain is that it's not really news since there aren't any details as to what happened and why.

more like that creepy uncle your parents don't want to talk about. anyway, no harm no foul.

what i was saying before is that it's all just propaganda. example:

madd (mother's against drunk driving) claim that due to their efforts, they have reduced the number of fatalities caused by drunk driving by 80% since 1963 (i made that number up - i'm to lazy to look up the actual number that they themselves made up).

it's obviously a lie based on skewing around with statistics because that number does not account for the advancements in automotive technology, safety features and legislation that have been created and implemented since 1963... like seatbelts:

in 1963, wearing your seatbelt wasn't required. a lot of people went flying through their windshield when they came to abrupt stops due to ramming into walls, trees and other cars.

once can easily post opposition to my claims that madd pulls mad statistics out of their ass by claiming that they only account for alcohol related incidents and that's fine... but drunk people wear seat belts too... and have airbags... and crumple zones... and cellphones (medical response times as well as medical life saving techniques have greatly improved since 1963 as well)... so really,  you have to decide what you are going to believe: my anti-madd rationale or madd made up theories which brings us back to the topic at hand:

they (ze germans) are claiming responsibility for taking down three of the most well known public trackers: i would argue that only a court can claim that responsibility... but as it turns out, the service provider which hosted those trackers took them offline for a reason that we are not currently aware of.... and neither is torrent freak.

torrent freak and i have one thing in common: piracy. or, rather... i'm a mother fucking pirate and they just seem to blog about it... and yeah, they post some useful information sometimes... but they are also guilty of having a biased view point, just like myself and everyone else on the planet. they only way you are going to find out what's true or not is to research the matter for yourself.

one thing is for certain: either those trackers will spring back up or others will take their place: it's the nature of all things.

oh! thanx for answer. Never mind the other part! And I researched this Article here on Suprbay coz you see no one could shed light on the authentication of this (so-call) news other than the Staff themselves. TY for clarifications.

Indeed! That one thing is indeed certain as OpenBT shows signs of life today as Demonii is troubling with technical glitches.
