New torrent seeded but not leechable
#1
First, if this is the wrong place to raise individual torrent problems, please redirect me.

I created the torrent below a couple of hours ago.

https://thepiratebay.org/torrent/1589120...ew_DVD_rip

Having read all tips here I did not include any trackers in the torrent file, understanding that TPB adds these.  And the magnet url from my TPB post does show several trackers.  But trying to leech this torrent from an independent machine fails - no download ever starts.  In my seedbox rutorrent client GUI I find nothing in the "Trackers" list window for this torrent except "dht://".  This is unlike any torrent I'm seeding, including many others I got from TPB.

Other details:  I used 8MB pieces in the torrent to keep the torrent file size down.  Was relieved that it upped OK.  I have repeatedly "stopped" and "started" this torrent in rutorrent, which shows its status as "seeding" (but no peers actually leeching).  I have also "updated trackers".  There is no ratio or channel limitation set.

Should I recreate the torrent with a tracker listed?  If so, which tracker?

Or, I can edit the torrent file on my seedbox to add a tracker - but will that help or hurt?

Thanks for any help.

Load your .torrent here http://torrenteditor.com/
and edit it to include trackers (associate with what TPB tends to add)
remove old .torrent from rutracker and add the new one.
It'll be the same .torrent (same hash), just now with trackers in it.

It's a pain, but you have to update after adding each tracker...
Add one tracker, update, add the next, update (until you added them all)
then download your new .torrent

Thanks for the info on torrenteditor.  I tried what you suggested and replaced the .torrent with the new one - but still nothing worked.

So I have created a completely new post with only one tracker listed in it:

https://thepiratebay.org/torrent/15892982

It isn't seeding yet either  Sad but maybe will start later.  I'll open a separate request here to delete the earlier post which still hasn't begun working.

Any other ideas will be welcome.

I think you need to forward some ports.

If you're on a VPN service, forward the ports that the VPN assigned for you.

If not, pick a port on your router, add your current IP, and forward the port.

Notice that you don't have to do both if you're using a VPN, just the one assigned to you by your VPN provider.

I don't know how it happens, as I am not fully-acquainted with VPN services. Maybe I will in the future.

Hope this helps.

Give this a read...
https://pirates-forum.org/Thread-2010-Ho...g-uTorrent

Though I disagree to check "start seeding". I usually manually add it, and skip hash check option.
Also, I think it's good to add trackers, though the tute says not to...
Here is what TPB is auto loading...

udp://tracker.leechers-paradise.org:6969

udp://zer0day.ch:1337

*udp://open.demonii.com:1337

udp://tracker.coppersurfer.tk:6969

udp://exodus.desync.com:6969

Definitely do not use demonii, it's a dead tracker.

coppersurfer & leechers-paradise are the only 2 connecting for me.
But it could be my VPN blocking the other 2 (exodus & zer0day)

My preferred list...

udp://9.rarbg.com:2710/announce

udp://tracker.opentrackr.org:1337/announce

udp://9.rarbg.me:2710/announce

udp://torrent.gresille.org:80/announce

udp://tracker.leechers-paradise.org:6969/announce

udp://tracker.coppersurfer.tk:1337/announce

udp://tracker.coppersurfer.tk:6969/announce

udp://tracker.ilibr.org:6969/announce

udp://tracker.ex.ua:80/announce

udp://tracker.grepler.com:6969/announce

works well, though one of them has died, I believe the gresille one.

Anyways... try out that tute.

I finally got it working by creating a new .torrent file with one but only one tracker listed:  udp://tracker.opentrackr.org:1337/announce

Then I upped that .torrent into a whole new post.  That took about 12 hours to work but now it's seeding to one person.  Oddly, I'm trying to test it via the Torch browser torrent client and it can't get started with this TPB magnet link though the client works fine with other TPB magnets.  Maybe that will fix itself with time too.

ANYWAY...

I now want to delete the old post, but can no longer start a thread in the Site Forums | Account Issues page.  Got the hint somewhere that this may be limited to one thread per 24 hours.

--> Is that the right place to get a post deleted, and do I just need to wait longer to ask there?

Thanks for all the help.

You don't have to post anywhere for a torrent deletiion--just click the red "X" in the top right hand corner of the torrent page.
