Not sure when you watched it, or if you're some riffing whipper-snapper, but there was a point when RT was getting really stale (circa 2008) and suddenly CT came along.  Watching it then, they were welcome and not a single part of it was painful.  It was fun to see silhouettes again, and the acting was no worse than anything RT ever delivered live on stage.  It was also fun to hear something besides what was already becoming a tired old formula at 2 or 3 year old RiffTrax.

TL;DR shut up, boy

Might help your case if you didn't try for a shutdown right from the start. Patronising muppet.

1) I'm in my 50s, and have watched MST3K, RT, and the rest, from the jump
2) Never said a word about RT not having stale moments. It most certainly does
3) To me, it was painful.

Trying to use some manufactured "credentials" against me though? Pitiful. Truly pitiful. You are feeble enough to have written for CT.

Nothing about this was about MST3K or RT, it was all about how bad I found CT to be.

Yeah, I think I went to 3 of the Cinematic Titanic Live shows when they were still touring...all of them were an amazingly great time and I even took some noob friends and boom: new MST3K fans!  My favorite by far was The Alien Factor they did at Largo down in LA and I'm thankful every time I watch it that you can't hear any of my laughter.  I even met all of them afterwards and I awkwardly wore a first run CT shirt (I know, I know...wearing a band's T-shirt to their concert like a loser!) and Trace immediately said "Hey, I still have a few hundred of those in my garage!"

Sounds like this will be a super unpopular opinion here but when I was up in Michigan for school, I saw the MST3K Live Tour when it came to Ann Arbor and thought it was hilarious.  Jonah and Joel were the only "big" names there but it was a great time, for sure.  And most of the jokes landed beautifully!  The little games they'd play in between would probably get annoying if I saw them over and over again but totally worked for just the one viewing.  I'll watch the new MST3K this Sunday, if only to see what everyone is going to be complaining about for the next few weeks, haha.  I'm not holding out too much hope for it being great...but I'll wait to put the final nail in the coffin until after I've watched.

Cinematic Titanic started out weak. Those early, non-live, releases were indeed painful. And they picked some truly un-fun awful movies to riff. All of the live ones are good to great, though.

Cinematic Titanic was the best, funniest iteration of movie riffing ever.
OK, that is an exaggeration. But because they were so short-lived, their hit to miss ratio is better than MST3K or Rifftrax easily. And it was easily better than the Film Crew.
But this is a Rifftrax forum and CT is everyone from MST except Mike, Bill and Kevin. So I can understand those "Mike" people especially not liking CT.
But starting with Doomsday Machine (skip Oozing Skull maybe), and excluding Santa Claus Vs the Martians, everything else is damn near classic. Including The Astral Factor bootleg recording.

Alien Factor and East Meets Watts are both hilarious, i'd gladly watch either of those for the tenth time over even just a second viewing of what we got from MKB yesterday. if you liked MST3K for the "clever jokes", well, cinematic titanic makes it clear that MKB didn't exactly bring all the writing talent along with them to rifftrax.

My fav thing to do is a double feature of Rifftrax and Cinematic Titanic. You get the best of everyone--2 Crows, 2 Servos, Every Mad, plus Mike and Joel. East Meets Watts paired with Guy From Harlem is my favorite, though I wish Guy From Harlem was live.
I thought Oozing Skull wasn't great, Santa Vs Martians by CT is no better than the one by Rifftrax---neither are nearly as good as the old MST episode. And i don't think I totally loved Frankenstein's Castle of Freaks, but it was still ok. Everything else was excellent. And Astral Factor was one of the funniest ones, though not officially released. I am so grateful for whoever did that. Been hoping for years for Doll Squad or one of the other movies they riffed live but never released to show up.

More running MST3K through the mud.  The Netflix series was sad...this is just sort of pathetic.

Oh no my feelings.

Credentials?  I was saying it was a breath of fresh air at the time.  Congrats on being an elderly person grandpa.

If it was painful for you, fair enough.  I'm sure you get your fair share of pain in your old age.

Hope you don't die!
