Mobile site impossible to use.

I just tried to search for a file and get a magnet link from TPB using Google Chrome on Android.

First problem is it automatically goes to the mobile version of the site. Second problem is after I do a search then tap one of the links, it opens a new tab with a popup trying to get me to download some malware. Third problem is when I close that popup and tab, it opens another popup on the torrent's page. When I close that popup or hit back, it closes Chrome.

That makes it 100% useless because it's impossible to get to the links to download.

How can it be made usable? Easy! Stop using malware pushing popups!

1. You can get the PC version of the website if you check "Request desktop site"
2. The popups are ads which are not managed by TPB. You'll have to deal with them. Install an ad-blocker or update your host file.
3. If you have problems with Chrome, switch to Firefox; it can hande popups better.

I attempted to use Chrome because Firefox would not come up with any search results for the file I wanted to download, despite using application manager to delete all cache and other data, browsing history etc. I also force stopped Firefox and rebooted the phone. Nope, still nothing found for the exact same search that found several torrents in chrome and on desktop browsers.

On Firefox and Chrome on Windows I use the Poper Blocker addon. It specifically targets and blocks pop unders.

The search engine for mobile browsers is not exactly the same as the one for desktop browsers (I deduced that from the URL). It is not very accurate either (the entire search engine offered by TPB in general is not very accurate; other websites such as google or torrentz are indexing it better)...
If you've found what you were looking for with Chrome, good for you!

Try this, I use it and it has proved pretty good up to now, you may have to search the net for it though

You can get AdAway for your phone. It should also block some advertisements in other apps.

I have Dolphin set to request desktop versions of sites, and normally it'll turn up exactly the same as Firefox or Chrome on Windows. But for some reason it just got stuck on finding nothing before the torrent was posted, and would not *really search* later. It kept pulling the old results from somewhere.

I have no idea what are you talking about... I have never experienced any issue accessing/searching on TPB using Android browsers. The website works as it supposed to, therefore, it is out of TPB's crew control; which means the problem is at you.

PS: note that thepiratebay.se and themobilebay.org are different domains. If you want the web version on android, you'll need to brief "Req desktop site" and then to access thepiratebay.se. Otherwise, it would just return the mobile version of the site without android's metas tags.
Also, TPB doesn't ask the browser to remove the content already recieved therefore the content is cached and stored for using it when needed. This will make the previously search pages to be displayed again without showing the new results. This can be avoided if you refresh your page (Menu > refresh) to clear the stored data.

In other words, the system works fine, as it supposed to. It is you who doesn't know how to deal with it.
