I'm running a download client as often as I can, but I have to turn it off at certain times of the day (at least 2 breaks in one day) to avoid angering my roommates.
I have the MacOSX (Sierra) Calendar setup to start the program (Qbittorrent) and turn it off and on at certain times of the day, but it has never worked right. Usually I see two different icons for Qbittorrent on the bottom bar, and the one on the far right is open, and the one on the left is not open. I think this may be some sort of bug.
I am new to MacOSX, but I've been using it for about 6 months minimally and I can follow your instructions. It's much more convenient to run it on the MacBook Pro that I'm using because it takes much less electricity than my other computer, and I bet it wears out slower than my other computer (a Windows 10 desktop).
The other option (other than fixing the calendar problem) is to find a third party app that will open and close Qbittorrent at several times in the day, or possibly a bandwidth limiting program that can also be customized for the times of the day that I can't download.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Edit:
I believe I've figured it out, using Automator and Calendar. I downloaded an app called Scheduler but it didn't seem to have the same user-friendly interface as Automator.
Here is one of the pages I went to while fixing this problem:

And by the way, the reason I'm posting here is because my Apple forums post was deleted, I believe for discussing bittorrent.
