What do you guys think about the death of Henry Kissinger?
Do you like him? Do you hate him?
He's said to be a master strategist, but haters say that he's a war criminal that deserves to sit in an international prison and is also accused of being an organ harvesting client.
It's safe to say though, that the latter accusation is still not based.
I admit, I do have a bias about him because I heard he staged a coup on a democratically elected government of Chile, overthrew the president-elect, and installed the Pinochet junta. That would be very tarnishing to the name of one very noted ambassador like Kissinger. It can be seen as a war crime like when Zelenskyy refused to accept the Russian soldiers who surrendered on their own accord, no more, no less.
So what do you think? Will he be missed? Or would you just say, "Merry Christmas?"

When did TPB start meddling in politics?
As a long time member here, never heard Anataka, Brokeep or WTC-SWE comment on it...
(Brokeep is active now but under his real name on Tweeter or X these days)
Regards

Ever since the rise of the world's first tyrants. Know your place, peasant!
As for Kissinger, I doubt he ever really gave a shit about what people said of him, just as long as people kept talking about him.

Funny point, but are you saying that Kissinger is incapable of self esteem?

Kissinger is irreverent. He died at like 100. His craziness was way back in the Nixon days. We still got B52's, hah, but they don't even carpet with them any more. They shoot cruise missiles and are a fading part of our Nuke strike force. So they outlasted Kissinger via "upgrades". Kissinger got a Nobel prize, but he couldn't go get it because of the protests waiting for him. Even soldiers were protested way back then. Hard to say who was more shameful. So Communism took over Vietnam and Taliban took over Afghanistan. Russia and China went to bickering over Vietnam and it slipped thru their fingers. So now Vietnam is their own brand of Communism, that was not as inhumane as other tyrannical communists. Afghanistan will be what it's going to be. Biden will own the Afghan mess, while Kissinger owned the Vietnam mess. Nobody today sees the carpet bombing of his time, so Kissinger was on all the TV news shows about foreign policy talk. So Kissinger became a TV star. And that is how he died. A news show TV star. And that is Kissinger.
War is war. It don't mean your a criminal, unless you did war crimes that they convicted you on. No conviction, no war crime. Lotta people can't understand that. So Hollywood types that go to Vietnam, get indoctrinated to the idea that Kissinger is a criminal. Then get on TV and stir up useless bees. Kissinger may have been right in his ideas, but he was wrong in his execution and all his plans failed. War back then wasn't like war today. So Kissinger's failed plans cost tons of lives. As did the whole Afghan mess. There were too many cooks in the kitchen for Afghan to come out of this whole. And none of the cooks had it figured out. So it's back to tyrannical rule with a really ugly ending. Little news comes out of there but it seems that women there are paying the biggest price of American failure.

Well, he certainly is now, being dead. However, in life Kissinger was well known for being very full of himself, often insisting that he be addressed as "Doctor Kissinger", and not "Mister Kissinger" (he had a PhD in history).

Nobel Prize winner indeed.
More like No-Balls Piss Prize.
There I go, shedding my impartiality.
EDIT: "No Confession No Case" was a rap song made by Canadian convicted rapist and killer Paul Bernardo. Kind of fitting that stts2 said that. Nothing related, just sprag on my mind.

Well, I said no conviction no crime. But you have truth in there too. Lots of idiots in Prison and in ruins because they opened their yap when they shouldn't have. In lots of cases, cops only have what you tell them. And they use their "methods" to try to get you to spill something. Like what's going on in Georgia. They aint got nothing except bogus charges. Now they got a sniveling lawyer that says she will say whatever they want to make the charges go away. Hard to know yet how all that plays out, it's such a hair splitting contest.
And yea that "Nobel" prize is ruined. They gave one to Obama for just winning his election. It's got no more credibility now except to libtards.

I'm sure that even Obama was puzzled at that one. I think he simply accepted to avoid causing an international incident--recall the stink that blew up when Bob Dylan initially indicated he would decline the Nobel Prize for Literature (those Scandinavian politicos can be soooooo sensitive). Nobel Prizes have always been politicized, especially the non-science prizes. As far as the "libtards" were concerned, whatever residual sheen the Peace Prize still had was eliminated when Kissinger got his. I'm sure that The Orange Cult Leader was so keen on getting one only because Obama got one.
