I ran a couple HDmed vs HDhigh files I have through MediaInfo against each other. The audio has the same size in the file and same bitrate, it seems. I was a bit surprised to find that out myself, to be honest.

As I said, I'm surprised they use the same audio for both HDmed and HDhigh. Then again, there is only marginal potential improvement from their encode settings it seems, which would require a lossless source. Appears like though if you have an HDmed and extracting the audio for a project, it's the same.
