Issue running litany of old games on Win10Ult
#1
Recently, ever since I upgraded from Windows 7, quite a few games I try running no longer appear to function properly.

All are older games: Age of Mythology, Black and white I & Black and white 2.
Many execute and then appear to shut themselves down after launch (Age of Mythology at least lets you see the introductory cinematics.)

But as for Black and White I or II, I get absolutely nothing.

I've tried troubleshooting in a variety of different manors but it doesn't work.

These games aren't exactly the hottest thing out right now but they're good games, has anyone else encountered technical issues like this?

Have you tried compatibility mode?

Right click on the file, go to "Properties," and drop down the Compatibility mode to maybe Windows XP or anything that's not Windows 8 or 10.

Not exactly an expert opinion, but anything is worth a try.

Yes, that was my first attempt to make it work;

Set for Compatability mode: Win XP SP3, nothing, Vista, nothing, 7, 8, you name.

I'm right now installing Win7 Ult on a VirtualMachine and am going to attempt installation and execution on the VM.
I'll edit with results.
