It seems pretty legit with little to no slowdown.  The only "issue" is that you seem to have fewer connections on the older, more obscure stuff.  But it works out perfectly for me...I run a Plex server to 40+ people and just making your computer go behind a blanket VPN wall makes it a ton harder for them to connect and stream my stuff.  Contained just inside the torrent client with a VPN proxy is awesome and just what I needed!  Setting it up with the below instructions takes about 5-10 minutes if you do it right the first time (I don't believe I did but I got there eventually, haha)

And it's not free, but I think most VPNs only average $30-40/year...not too shabby. And I know both NordVPN and PIA offer the VPN Proxy option for your torrents.

VPN-wise: I've been devout to PIA for 6 years? 7? I can't believe how much I DL'd back in the day w/zero protection. I was lucky to never get any kind of warning. If you're thinking of a VPN? Just remember whoever you pick: Zero Logs. You want someone who keeps no logs of anything that their customers DL. I'd go on about PIA, but do your own research. Cheers!

@tripletap006 Yeah, I knew bsg had his copy. I don't have a vpn currently and using torrent sites has caused my service provider to hit me with warnings. Trying to play it safe for now, figure out a way to bypass it lol.

Oh, not at all! Charter/Spectrum is my ISP. Country is USA. I definitely think like enyalep said, it's a scare tactic. Something about continuation of using any sort of torrenting and my service will be terminated. That sort of thing. I need a vpn, just can't afford one right now.

I've probably gotten 10-15 letters throughout the last 7 years or so.  I switched over to a VPN proxy inside the actual torrent client a year and a half ago...haven't heard a peep since!

Yeah I've had about the same amount while actively trying to avoid it (using private sites when I can).  I would also add that the right VPN also lets you leech more from MEGA links.

Be aware PIA got bought by Kape, who has done some shady things like sending malware with software. I still use it but might switch.

Gosh this movie is horrendous.

And not just the bad cgi or any specific technical way.
In all those ways its a standard issue tent pole/Will Smith hollywood production.

But it just makes your skin crawl.
For that same reason.

Its spielbergian.
