As I said, he may be terrible, he may be great, but at least let him do something for christ's sake. You know, I thought you actually read this thread for content. In which case, you'd know I was being sarcastic above, and that I think Trump is being blamed for doing exactly what Obama did before him. Guess not, hmmm? I mean: "But he's placed sociopathic corporate billionaires in cabinet posts, just like his predecessors of both parties!" Come on! How could you miss the very obvious parody in that?

I get you. I wasn't paying enough attention to what you said I guess. I'm so used to people berating Trump that I thought that you were doing the same.
We said basically the same thing. And I didn't realize.

Not a problem. I just think better of you than the FB hordes, who wouldn't recognize sarcasm or irony if it jumped up and bit 'em in the ass.

Oh! I know irony and sarcasm! I know that they are 2 concepts that democrats don't understand and never could, and Hillary if she had become prez would have probably abolished them since she was such a beeyotch.

The way I see it--and just speaking for myself, mind you--it was a race between a rabid corporatist weasel, and a bankster-loving warmonger. I voted for Jill Stein, just as I did in 2012, and the Dems (among them, several former friends of mine) tell me I personally cost them the election. Here starteth the rant. Couldn't have been the well-publicized fact of St. Hill taking 1.3 US million for a dozen speeches to banks, while the economy's tanking in many of the "flyover" depressed counties which flipped from Obama for Trump. Couldn't have been her team's strategy to ignore key battleground states, based on inadequate prediction software. Couldn't have been outright stealing delegates away from Sanders, or her upper level team's repeated dissing in public of Sanders' highly placed team members after his attempt at the nomination was choked off--believing the left had nowhere else to go. Or the well-publicized theft of monies meant for all federal Dem races by the DNC for her, alone. Or alienating non-whites, and appealing to mainstream conservative GOPers. Or her repeated support for every war Bush II and Obama made public, or her vocal support for intensifying the Security State. Or the way the Dem Party has been taken over since the mid-90s by a very right wing corporatist political group--The New Dems and The Third Way, both labels they've used--who have made plain they dislike their party's old constituencies and only want their votes. Or St. Hill's unwillingness to address any of the many issues, economic and otherwise, that have made life very tough for US citizens on a daily basis, since neither major party has any interest in the 99%ers outside of grabbing their votes. Nah. It was the filthy, stinkin' left, among which I'm counted. -And the millennials. And the unionists, the hippies, the rest of the world that denied St. Hill her rightful place in the Vatica--excuse me! The White House. Yep. Oh, and the Russians. Of course. How could I possibly forget?

By the way, this is a great analysis of why St. Hill lost, in my opinion. Ignore the charts at the top. They're kind of confusing, at least to me. Everything else is gravy. It's also the kind of thing the New Dems will never do themselves, because reacting to it would require new leadership. And there's the unwritten law that it is better to rule a well-funded party that fails endlessly at the ballot box (as the Dems have in the last decade, especially, losing not just the presidency but congress, and a record number of state governments) than a well-funded party that succeeds in getting elected, but in which you have no leadership role.

I'll tell you exactly why Hillary wasn't elected. Noone likes her. If almost any other democrat had been nominated, they would have almost certainly have beaten Trump. But she is such a horrible hypocritical fraud, that noone with any sense could have supported her.
If Obama were able to be elected again, he certainly would have beaten Trump. If almost any other democratic candidate had been nominated, they would have won. The democrats put all their chips on the fact that Hillary was a woman. The first woman president! Wouldn't that be great! Except they forgot that she is a terrible person with horrible ideas for policies and the future of america. Literally any other democratic candidate would have won. America hates Hillary Clinton.

For a person who's so hated, she came very close to becoming the next president. But you're right, a lot of people either hate her, or hate the kind of party politics she represents--the horseshittery of glorified nationalism in the face of severe unemployment, ass-kissing banksters except during election years, gleefully pushing every war possible to give the powerful armaments industry enough money to choke it. If only. It's terrible when you realize just how close she came to election. If she and her obtuse campaign team had just been a bit smarter--less inclined to publicly humiliate Sanders' top folks, less obvious with her bankster love, less uncaring about the numbers of once prosperous folks now unemployed and desperate--she might have pulled this off. Instead, they snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. They're even more stupid than Trump's team, and that's saying a hell of a lot. |
