How to make a Game Launcher?
#1
So, with my other issue solved, i've hit another one for my own programs that I plan to release soon...

I need a launcher for it. One that looks sleak (I've got that down) and can download files and such easily. I also need it to have a news feed (for updates) in the corner. Any good programs to do this? Easy as well? I just need it to looks nice...

Thank You,

Its the exact same answer to your other thread, you've got VS up and running so do some coding to get what you need done.

Well I know that... I'm familier with the consept...

The issue i'm having is that I don't know the code to display both a % and a progress bar.

If you have this code or ideas or something, I humbly request it.

Thanks,

A progress bar is a windows common control and the windows api documentation gives you the basics.

I don't know what language your using but the basics are the same regardless so you create the window then set the styles then set the range then once done you set the position of the progress meter using the PBM_SETPOS message when you need to update the progress bar.

Your IDE likely will have a wrapper for the progress bar but I find it easier to just use the CreateWindowEx function then the SendMessage function to communicate with the control.

If your using CreateWindowEx rather than your compilers wrapper then be sure to call the InitCommonControlsEx function once before you create any windows to ensure you get styling.
