How helpful is a USB thumbdrive to an XBOX360 in temrs of storage?

Hi,

I'm shopping on classifieds for a modded (i.e. flashed) XBOX360.


I am in the hopes that if I find nothing more affordable than a 360 with no hard drive installed that a USB thumbdrive would at be half as useful as a hard drive. I don't care about going online nor am I going to look forward to store MP3s and videos, I am just going to keep game saves.

If I am not going to do the aforementioned, what should I be doing?

You can use USB's as a alternative to hard drives. You will just need to configure the USB via Xbox's memory settings (format). Then, you'll be able to use the USB as a hard drive, store game saves, store media, and store games (if you downloaded it from the marketplace). And you don't need a modded Xbox, but I do suggest you get one to play .iso's which you can also store and play from your USB.

Well, yes, I do need a modded XBOX360; how else will I play pirated games?

However, I do understand where your advice came from: I don't need a modded XBOX360 to use a USB thumb drive, that much is certain.
