How about a thanks button

A lot of sites that i have the pleasure of using, have a thankyou button so that users can thank the poster etc.
I think that this should be implemented. That way it is a simple click and it shows our apreciation.

Filesharers contribute to suprbay for the love of sharing information with others, as well as helping out with technical queries & requests, and not for any sort of appreciation or self validation. We're against trinkets like thanks buttons, because some users will see their posts as a means to collect thanks, or worse, it becomes a popularity contest.

On some forums, the box containing all the users that have thanked the poster is twice the size as the post itself, which detracts from the content of said post. If you want to show your appreciation to a worthwhile and thought provoking post by a user on this forum, you are free to add to their reputation rating.
