FreeDOS vs. DOSBOX: Which is better for legacy software use?
#31
One thing about DOSBox I noticed: I haven't tried this on FreeDOS yet but, DOSBox can run DOS games at medium speed; it won't make your head spin when you try to scroll, ala Warcraft II or Command and Conquer.

I'll find the courage to try FreeDOS soon to make a fare comparison.

Good point.

Well, I don't really know, but as you asked, what about it?

DOSBox and FreeDOS came later, and I believe are more superior than MS-DOS 6.22.

What do you think?

How much RAM do you have?

I believe old operating systems will have trouble booting up with modern hardware.

You might need to use computers that have lesser amounts of memory.

icramox1, if you're still here, I believe you're running a virtual machine. Just lower the RAM count in one of the options.

For example, if you use VirtualBox, you might want to lower RAM to say 64MB, 32MB, or less.

Hope this helps.
