Expendables 3 removal ?
#1
Seeing as the producers have threatened to fine anyone who downloads it and are actively conducting a witch hunt, they claim they have already sent out over 500,000 letters out of the 10 million+ who downloaded it which include fines attached to them, the bay is one of the places they mentioned.

Anyone think it's fair to remove this film so more people don't get into trouble or even just add a warning in the description ?

Some might not be aware of this danger.

Is this a troll thread? this is a troll thread.

There's no real danger.

The moment it got uploaded to the bay that movie became public property, anyone anywhere can own it.

Law's vary from country to country, that being said, in most parts of the free world a letter in the mail from anyone but a judge citing you to court is consider what it really is which is trash.

Those letters might only be of any (probably also unnecessary) concern in country's where they are loosing the battle for internet neutrality and freedom like China or United States, i have never seen one of these letters myself and i would really like to see one, if anyone here has or ever receives one share it please, my advice is counter-letter them through your lawyer denying absolutely everything and intimating them to cease all contact and judicial action.

No torrent has ever been nor ever will be removed from the bay other than those consider spam and/or by direct petition of the uploader. The bay is the bastion of the truly open and free world and it cant be threatened by anyone because its created by people who don't get paid for doing this, they do it because they are motivated by a much greater force which is the power of their will to stand behind what they believe.

I'm not trolling at all just very worried, apparently they have the addresses of 10 million people world wide who downloaded and have already sent out 500,000 fines each for at least $300.
they mentioned the bay and thought maybe anything with expendables in the name could get warning attached to it as some people might not be aware that Millenium are actively hunting people and said they will take people to court, again I'm just worried Sad

Like any activity, people should take the time to understand the risks before engaging in it.

So, no, it would not be fair to remove those uploads just because someone might get a nasty letter in the mail. If you don't like nasty letters from rights holders, use a VPN or seedbox or don't download copyrighted works.

That I can understand but seeing as this is one of the first major cases in the movie industry where they are actively conducting a witch hunt of over 10 million people would it not be polite to put a little warning next to those torrents before people download and have their lives ruined ? or is informing people too much to ask ?

It's not the first, and it won't be the last.

No one is going to have their lives ruined over this. You aren't spreading information, you are spreading baseless fear.

I am spreading information though, Go look it up if you don't believe me, Many places have reported on what Millenium films are doing to downloaders, NME, Kitguru, Torrentfreak etc... they all have the same story.

I am familiar with the story. You'll find it posted here as well if you take some time to search for it.

Copyright law and due process haven't been changed just for this incident.

It is baseless fear because until you response to the letter they have nothing on you. Ignore it and they can't do anything.

Similar to getting pulled over for speeding. If you don't admit to the cop when they come to your door you can get out of it most of the time. However if you say anything to them that involves admitting you were speeding it makes the court case for it makes it alot harder to get dropped.
