[Error] TPB does not work with Tor! (At least for me)
#1
I know this may sounds funny coz, TPB just released it's PirateBrowser completely based upon Vidalia, But I'm having some problems (in inputs) whenever I use TPB (& SB Chat).

Troubles I'm feeling are following:

* I Can't Post Torrents. (Gives Me Wrong Coder Error Everytime)
* I Can't Post Comments (either) (Gives me data base error)
* In SB Chat I Can't log-in & It says "Open Proxy found on your host."

As far as it concern to data base error & Wrong Coder Error, I found that SB thread a bit useful.

https://pirates-forum.org/Thread-ThePira...base+error

But, It do not provide me any kinda fix to use.

And, for SB chat I captured the following message.

__________________________________________________________

Additional: This only happen with TPB (& SB) but I face no error anywhere else while posting torrent & in IRC chat. And, off course When I turn-Off the Tor everything becomes same as before.

So, Any tips, Tricks, etc. etc. is accepted, appreciated (& liked off course). Blush

In Vidalia, choose a new identity until it works.

PirateBrowser is intended to allow people to browse ThePirateBay (and other torrent sites).

It is not intended to allow them to post to ThePirateBay. It runs on Tor and we block Tor nodes routinely. You will occasionally get a node we haven't blocked, and be able to register/upload/comment, but most of the time you won't be able to.

We don't run the IRC servers you're trying to connect to but it's not surprising that they do similarly.

The fix is use something else.

So, you are hinting me about VPNs. Tongue

I'm not hinting at anything, I'm simply pointing out that there is nothing you can do to "fix" PirateBrowser because it isn't broken. It simply isn't intended for the purpose you're trying to use it.

If's the same answer I would give if you came here to ask how to "fix" a screwdriver that wasn't effective at hammering in nails.

I think there's a decent amount of misunderstanding b/w our replies Coz, I'm talking about Tor & you are telling about PirateBrowser, (Though Vidalia is common). I'm talking about fix to this error and you are talking about PirateBrowser. And, I'm talking about VPN Wink & you are about my purpose, (Though we match here). I know PirateBrowser is innocent here (And, It is not broke) But please don't compare it with screwdriver. It hurts me. Tongue

You were the one who started talking about PirateBrowser. But whether you're using PirateBrowser (which runs over Tor, not Vidalia) or Tor and some other browser, the error messages result from your use of Tor, which we actively block.

There is no way to "fix the error" because it isn't an error, it's a policy we have chosen to enforce. The only error is yours, in trying to do something we don't permit.

You can use Tor to browse our site.

You cannot use Tor to register/upload/comment on our site. We don't allow it. When the system detects that you're using Tor it blocks your attempted actions and issues error messages.

I don't understand what it is about that that you don't understand. But I've spent as much time as I'm going to attempting to explain it to you.
