BTC, BCH LCH, NGC, ETC etc etc. Why does would TPB be looking for payments? My understanding is pirate is free. Why BlockChain be an option? I do not understand sorry can someone please explain. I've not a problem with helping running costs with donating so where is the issue i'm not seeing?

It is hard to understand the TPB crew, they have a mindset of their own and we are not living in their shoes. For me, at least.
As Sid said, there are costs; money transfer methods are evidence too easy to track, resulting in legal action. Jail time and severe fines are very likely.
To protect donors and TPB itself, obscure, harder to track techniques are needed. Guess using the mob to laundry money is out of question.
To summarize, copyright holders will defend their business, governments the institutions, while TPB won't just sit and take their shut. So use covers.
Some sites try to live along the system, if barely legal. TPB apparently choose another way, maybe knowing neither side will ever easily surrender.
Some posts here and in TorrentFreak.com are very informative, but I'm really bad at searching to point them, sorry.

I love TPB and have been using it for years. So I wanted to donate. But you don't take BCH. Your loss guys.
Did Blockstream get their fingers into TPB also?

The statement I bolded makes no sense. The fees are a percentage of what you pay (unless you use a scammer wallet that wants a fixed fee  ), so if you know your maths, you'd know the fees wouldn't be higher than the donation itself.

I get angry over sites which demand (or beg for) money.
Some people get angry over sites which not only don't hassle them for money but which actually discourage them from giving money.
Only one of those reactions makes any sense.
