Daz3d & Reality
#11
I just bought a Zotec GTX 960 card for a very reasonable price. The computer game magazines rate it as a 'best bang for the buck' card. I went from 124 Cuda cores to 1024 and saw a huge speed increase. I have all the Iray shaders as they pass through here and am pretty darned happy with the results. Good thing too as the shaders can quickly cost into the hundreds of dollars.

Yep AMD is behind the times I have been a loyal AMD user for 15 years or so and I am going Intel from now on. Reality is good, but it does require lots of time
those renders that are so amazing can take up to a week of 24 hour rendering they don't tell you that. So for now Iray is my choice have nvidia cards in all
my machines and going to spend more money for one next month.

I have been using Reality for a while now and haven't come across the camera issue. I have had other issues and have found the developer to be very helpful for the most part.
Something to remember for every piece of software out there... It is impossible to track down all bugs. For someone to be able to fix a bug, they have to be able to recreate it.. With so many combinations of PC's and software, some bugs are impossible to track down. Also keep in mind that people are more likely to post and complain online then they are to take the time to compliment something, so while they problem to no problem ratio of posts may be high, the actual problem to no problem people may be much higher and reversed.

Reality used to have a camera issue. Something about the camera naming convention or something, it would sometimes load a random extra camera, sometimes extra lights, etc. Also, when you switched to another camera in your scene in Daz Studio, Reality wouldn't pick up on that and would render from the last camera that was selected. It also used to have issues with Autofit - the procedure for Autofit creates temporary geometry/morphs as it adjusts clothing to fit the different generations of figures. Reality would end up adding the 'middleman' but wouldn't delete them once the autofit process was complete.

As far as I know, though, most if not all of these bugs were fixed in the later versions from 4.1 onwards. The thing is I stopped using it around v4.1 because I got into Iray and never turned back.

What I absolutely love about LuxRender is the ability to change tonemapping parameters without re-rendering the scene.
