Converting .SWF & .FLV to .MP4
#1
I've got a handful of .swf an .flv files that I would like to use in some different projects.   But it seems like the best the online converters can do is give me the music on them but not the video.

Any suggestions?

(BTW.  My OS is Ubuntu)

ffmpeg should be able to handle those - if not so, you can convert them manually one by one with VLC.

If you don't like command line tools, get Winff: https://sourceforge.net/projects/winff/

I still use if to burn VCDs (yes, I still burn and archive movies on VCDs every now and then!).

An addendum/errata to my post: https://accelermedia.com/how-to-convert-...-for-free/

This article talks about converting FLV videos. It might need more power than FFMPEG/Winff, but I'll that for you to decide.

Before I found FFMPEG or Winff, I used Aiseesoft Total Converter, that is until I made it a point to use almost all FOSS tools for my operations. Can't go the full route, but enough to say "I'm born again."

Underhood VLC uses ffmpeg for converting
