Charade Criterion Upgrade
#1
Seeing as Charade is one of the few RiffTrax movies to also be included in the Criterion Collection, I wanted it to look as good as possible. This transfer has been ripped directly from the Criterion blu ray. In addition to Mike & Bridget's riff, I have also included the original uncompressed monoaural soundtrack and the exclusive Criterion commentary track with director Stanley Donen and screenwriter Peter Stone. English subtitles and properly named chapter titles are also attached. Please enjoy.

Thanks alansmithee99, not that jimmy_breeze's original post was unacceptable in a Christopher Lee slumming it in Starship Invasions kind of way.

A really beautiful print of Charade! This is a movie I always wished I loved. The cast is amazing and it feels like a classy Alfred Hitchcock, twisty thriller. But Walter Matthau's mustache, I mean character is, what? zipping back and forth to that empty hotel and murdering people, then rushing home to be near the phone in case Audrey Hepburn calls about it? But only his home number; if she calls him at work the whole plan is blown. She's busy falling in love with a guy who has given her 4 different names since they met, is twice her age and will shower fully clothed to avoid any intimacy with her until he asks her to marry him. It's a movie I could see being riffable.
That said, did anybody else just not like this riff? It made me appreciate the movie more. I felt like I was at a couple's house and they wanted to watch Charade but talked during a lot of it. It barely felt like a written riff, more like Mike and Bridget being playful during a movie. Maybe they thought the movie was a classic so they were gentle? I'm not anti-Bridget or only want Mike, Bill and Kevin, but in this instance I thought this was a very unfunny riff. Which is a shame cuz it was a cool surprise title!
Grateful for the great quality up! I almost turned the riff off a few times and just watched the movie

Thank you, Charade. I had wanted to watch this again without the jokes because it was a pretty awesome movie and nice change from the usual scifi/horror/b-movie fare.

Belated Thanks alansmithee99!! I couldn't help but notice one of the names you mentioned: Peter Stone. So....Like, no one's gonna make a juvenile joke on that name? I mean, I thought we were worse than that. Guess I was wrong... (I'm not so much mad, as I am disappointed.)
