Brand vs. Price in Blank DVDs

When you did, once upon a time, buy a pack of blank discs, do you shop for brand reliability, or do you shop for price?

I always reach for price, but, lately, this strategy has been costly in the end.

I know people would just buy Verbatim and not question the action, I tend to try any DVD pack for low prices.

I'll put up a poll for this thread, because I want to know the majority's criteria when shopping for discs.

Well, that's what they all say.

So I guess when you used it, you would go for price, not loyalty or reliability.

Well, I certainly wouldn't spend money on something proven unreliable, but at the same time, I can't trust a brand to remain reliable.

Mostly, I am going to use blank DVD media to burn games for my Playstation 2.

The strange thing is, Verbatim doesn't work. People say it will work.

The only ones that work so far are those from Ritek/Ridata.

If that brand fails, then I will use Fortuna, an exploit to play Playstation backups without a mod chiip.

Lots of links, from technical whitepapers to detailed instructions for novices. For that, I just need to plug in a memory card and run games from USB.

Other than that, I also buy and burn movies and TV shows onto DVD discs; I'm a DVD Authoring freak.
