Hatari (1962) - my first movie as a toddler; watched it in the 70s; can't remember much now.
The Bear (1988)
Two Brothers (2004)
Born Free (1996)
Benji (1974) was the first dog movie I watched (as a kid).

And then there is "Eight below" starring Paul Walker, which you've perhaps seen.

Titles I can't remember. Maybe someone can ID it.
- There was another movie which has a scene where an elephant which gulps down a bucket full of ice-cream. 70s comedy maybe.
- One where a lion escapes from a zoo I think and roams the streets of a city terrorizing everyone. 70s/80s.
