Piracy is the bane of the movie industry, and it has struck one of Hollywood’s most anticipated releases: Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Shaky versions of Hollywood hits filmed with handheld cameras are nothing new to the industry. Practically every big release eventually makes its way out in this format. Sometimes on opening day, sometimes weeks later.
With the practice of releasing major films overseas first, the likelihood of a film making it to the pirate scene before its USA release is upped considerably, and crafty pirates overseas have wasted no time in getting the latest Avengersup on torrent sites.
Currently being spread by sites like The Pirate Bay and KickAss Torrents, the first version of Avengers: Age of Ultronwas only available in Russian, but an English version was quick to follow. Commenters say the version is very watchable with clean audio, but smart Avengers fans will be waiting until next week’s legitimate release to take in Joss Whedon’s latest entry to the franchise.
Of course the only way to take in a spectacle like Avengers: Age of Ultron is via the big screen, but the early release will no doubt take a nibble out of opening night profits for the film. Of course another consideration is spoilers, Illicit viewers will no doubt be espousing opinions all over the web so look out.
