The french sites are proving to be a problem too.  ALL AMERICAN MOVIES !

I want to hear people talk because it helps with my pronounciation but I also want to see France's culture.    The Avengers in french is still just the Avengers

Would you settle for Canadian French?

If so, you can look up the Canadian House of Commons Question Period sessions in the French language.

In addition to being exposed to the French there, you can also learn Canadian state of affairs if that's your thing.

This is what I know about the place.   They're communists, have polar bears and the president is openly gay.

Are there are lot of Haitians or is this just like one TV show and not specialty channel?

Why?  Is yours a nation of chimney sweeps?  Well . . . the winters are long and cold in Canada, so I guess it makes some sense . . .

Calling Canada a Communist nation is a bit of a stretch...

Anyway there is plenty great French cinema to enjoy, lots of it available as torrents. A few classics off the top of my head:

Betty Blue
Nikita (the original french version)
Leon
Le Grand Bleu
Delicatessen
La cite des enfants perdu

My personal favorite tho: La Grande Bouffe Smile

Honorable mention: The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie

Blackface was a racist character that the Prime Minister enacted when he was in his youth; He painted his face black like a black person and did this whole thing that the people of Canada who hate him and the leading opposition party would pick on him with.

The "Thought" thing was the Communist plot in China that glorifies Xi Jinping as a Godly figure by making everyone study his words as if he was Jesus Christ.

Tubi is legal and licensed. So only Fox movies. Search the opposite words to find such streaming sites. Use a search engine other than google. Use a VPN if you stream.. Found a few sites. But chances are content will still be limited and not what you want.

TPB is still the best source. Find what you want via IMDb lists, Wikipedia or elsewhere. Then look it up on TPB. I tried a few and there was a 100% hit.
You can technically stream torrents, but i'd avoid it. It almost invariably bleeds the seeds.

Assuming your Fr language level is Intermediate +/-, try 'News in slow french' to learn french pronunciation (many sources).
If you want to watch movies, prefer older movies (B/W). Choice is yours.

You may find it useful to keep both French + Eng subs.
In that case, use a media player that can display multiple subs simultaneously. (Pot Player, KM Player).

Short movies (youtube ) is an easier option.

See if TV5 Monde is available. If you can subscribe to it. Subtitle support seems available. But see if it is what you need.
If not, find out the movie from their program guide and look it up on TPB or a streaming site.

Hope this helps.

Lots of good French movies mentioned here.  My favorite is Ridicule (1996).
