An Essential Tool

No this thread isn't about [insert politician's name here].  Ever been stuck having to go through and rename tons of files (say a collection of Rifftrax shorts) to get them organized the way you need them?  Can take forever (especially when you suck at typing like me).

I came across this utility app a few years ago, and it is now something I use almost daily.  This completely freeware program allows you to easily batch rename files - something which those of us who download hundreds and thousands of media files need to do all the time!  It's amazing how much time this can save you as well as everything you can do with it!  Again, it's completely free and safe.  Been using it for years!

It's very simple and straightforward to use, but if you want to get a bit of a tutorial, here it is:

I personally use FileBot when I have a bunch of Rifftrax that need to be numbered for Plex (it can scan TVDB automatically to get the proper episode numbers):

I love BulkRename and swear by its ease of use and functionality. Swear by it. Just the other day I said, "Shit, this fucking BulkRename is damn good!" I swear by it, I tell ya!

For real, I've used this for years and especially love the easy right-click access from any folder.

I, too, have used BRU several times when I think to and when I don't just end up doing it by hand anyway.

Thanks for sharing this.  Since I recently had to start rebuilding my Riff library, I got lazy and just redownloaded files and now I'm back at the point of needing to rename everything so my Plex library picks them up properly.  It's been so long since I needed to do this I was putting it off.
