Computer wont start, need to re-image
Ok I installed the Win7 90 day free trial...but it wasn't ccompatible with my network, so I try to but my Windows.old files into the Windows file, it says I dont have permission, so I press Skip for alot of things, then re-boot to see if I got my windows XP back but my computer will not startup anymore, it says I have to "re-immage" my computer, so I try to but it asks me to find 1 specfic file within thousands of other files, and I connot search for the file because I don't know the file name, please if one of you can find what file and where its at post it here because I cannot do anything anymore until so

Burn a ubuntu livecd to see if you can get your data back. The best advice would be to back it up to a removable drive before doing anything. Alternatively, you could do a full ubuntu install and copy the files you need over there, then use it as your OS. Or even (not sure if this would work, but worth a shot) do a full ubuntu install, copy critical files to it's partition, and reinstall windows completely. Not sure if windows supports installing alongside another OS tho.

I should have been clearer. Ubuntu is an operating system, intended as a full replacement for Windows. However, it is very good at reading hard drives, so you could use it in livecd mode (boot from the CD and choose "Try Ubuntu without any change to my computer") to back up your data (pictures, movies, etc.) to an external hard drive. The file and directions you need are here: http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download

In terms of reimaging, you're probably out of luck unless you have a CD or DVD to install Windows from. That's why you need to back up anything you want to keep, because the installation will wipe your hard drive. If you don't have a Windows disc, you need to buy one.
