Duh...what did they expect?

Quote:Attempts to shut down notorious torrent tracker site The Pirate Bay have spurred a four-fold increase in the number of file sharing websites during the third quarter of 2009.

At least some of these sites are primarily designed to distribute scareware and other types of malware rather than pirated content.
Net security firm McAfee reports that a 300 per cent increase in file sharing sites that offer music and films has been accompanied by a sharp increase in associated malware-themed scams. Some of the newly created sites are littered with ruses designed to trick users into downloading various strains of malware.

Filesharing fans began creating their own sites in support of The Pirate Bay community when the site came under legal attack in Sweden during August, leaving it temporarily unavailable, McAfee explains.~....."
edit: forgot the end quote tag. oops.

I mean seriously, they somehow must think that everyone depends on TPB and it;'s the sole source of evil everywhere and no one anywhere else has a clue on how or why to setup such a thing......pathetic really.

RE: Duh...what did they expect?
hell yea! I love to see it when the world community pulls together. Dont worry these guys wont be able to stop tpb much less the literally thousands of p2p sites that have come and are on the way. I wonder if anyone is starting to notice the trend of counter culture growing when faced with adversity.

The sun of tomorrow does not shine on those who are fearing tomorrow itself.

Yes, but these great and powerful Courts will put a stop to all of this with one stroke of their mighty pens.

Looks like they have us right where they want us.

ya...just like for the last 25 years. they've just had the community up against the ropes at every turn. absolutely nothing we can ever do about it. poor us.....I think I'm gonna go home and forget everything about the reasons I do all this stuff and just give it up, now forever. hope they dont come up with some super high tech protection like a cardboard wheel with symbols you have to type in to get things to work.
