Take the cover off, plug that floppy back in and run it, just let it sit there on something, dont need to mount it for the few minutes you will use it.
The computer wont melt w/o the fan for a few minutes.

The trouble with doing something right the first time is that nobody appreciates how difficult it was.

My AMD foxcon board and my asus netbook both flash using a tool you download and install within windows. Your board should support something similar.

The danger is though, if your computer is not all stable, it can be problematic. Just be sure your computer is not likely to crash during the flash, because if it does it will likely kill the board (or at least the bios chip).

Mothergoose, that is not recomended even by M/B manufactures. Even though they make software to do it they still recomened useing a floppy drive. Before Abit sold out i was Abit tech support and i can tell you that this is a fact.
If you have no floppy installed you can hook one up long enough to flash with, just take the side off the case and plug it in.
I do not recomend any other means of flashing a bios period.

Wow I wish I thought of that.
Anyway I should have added (above) that it is MUCH safer to do it from a floppy drive at the dos window because so much less can go wrong. I would recommend that the floppy disk be formatted first before the software is copied to it and then test that you can copy the data back off of it before you actually use it. As Mothergoose said, you will get no second chance with this process

Was there a Bios version that addressed his problem?
