Most badass.. damn, I've seen SO much animé (in my opinion, which would probably be a puddle in comparison to the ocean of animé some have travelled) but I adored "The twelve kingdoms" (and am mourning that there isn't a sequel). I can't say if I'd call it badass, but a normal girl getting taken to an alternative dimension because she's really from there, is a queen and gets to hack and slash a lot of monsters is.. nice.

"Saiyuki gunlock" is pretty action-packed, yet still balanced out with a lot of goofyness.

.. *ponders some more*.. I'd have to say that "Elfen lied" is the most badass animé I've seen to this point.

I'd have to go with Afro Samurai, its awesomely gory and the story line keeps you intrigued, not to mentioned voiced by Samuel L. Jackson, How more badass can you get?

Berserk - Guts (english)
Bleach - Kenpachi (Ichigo in hollow form/mode)
Hellsing - Alucard
Naruto - kakashi (one of the most stylish atleast)
Elven laid - (Lots of fun and gore)
Basilisk - I'll copy paste the comment from "Thingdeux"
Claymore - Has a few good moments every now and then.
Kenshin - Saito (Or kenshin in Man-slayer mode)

And there are so much more out that ^^

Ichigo a badass character.... the term for badass its going well down under.
And when you analyze the one character do it for all the anime ,not only one scene, remember all the damn 200 episodes he got his ass spanked...common his a teddybear just like Kon

If we analyze this way i think i can nominate Lunar's Papa (Seto_no_Hanayome) as the most badass character in history.
